Subscriptions are designed to be easy to start and easy to forget. A quick audit every few months keeps them in check.

Find them

Look through the last two months of bank and credit card statements and search for words like “recurring,” “monthly” or “renewal.” Check app store subscription settings on your phone too, since many charges hide there.

Sort them

  • Keep: used weekly and worth the price.
  • Rotate: streaming services you can pause and restart when a show you want comes out.
  • Cancel: anything you have not used in a month.

Negotiate the rest

For services you keep, ask about annual plans, student or household plans, or loyalty discounts. Cancelling sometimes triggers a retention offer.

Add each charge to the subscription tracker and flag the ones to cancel. It shows your yearly savings.
